The proud heritage of the North American Juggalo

Today, while at the DIA, I stumbled across a small, hidden corridor that I’d never seen before. The plaque at its entry, which was obscured almost completely by a tall potted plant, stated simply, “The Hall of the North American Juggalo.” The exhibition, while very small, was truly moving. I had, of course, known that Juggaloism had a rich history on the North American continent, but I had no idea just how far back it went. Pictured here are ceremonial masks dating back to the mid 1600’s… Unfortunately, no photos were allowed of the beautifully carved stone basins used to ferment faygotomen, the carbonated beverage thrown by native holy men during their sacred gatherings.
